Glad to see someone out there playing like Monica Seles. Marion is Marion of course but she does remind one of Monica, a lot!

I play two-handed both sides just because my one-handed is so sloppy and erratic, two-handed helps me clean it up and I get more power behind it. I dunno if it works for the pros though, I mean I don’t have a lot of reach so I have to rely on my speed….

It’s surely frustrating to see Ana lost in this match. But Bartoli did play wisely by attacking on Ana’s backhand side to push her away from the baseline and put her under pression to the unforced errors.

  • By iNikkoJohn, August 7, 2010 @ 7:00 pm

  • By oneilljus, August 7, 2010 @ 7:59 pm

Ana’s backhand was horrid in this match.. No pace on hardly any of them.

  • By petunia0809, August 7, 2010 @ 8:52 pm

@glory789 It’s been a tough road for Ana and Maria. But it was Maria who capitalized in all the opportunities. Right now she is inside the TOP 10.

Good on Bartoli she played the weaker side to a T

  • By Bragofan, August 7, 2010 @ 9:50 pm

Sigh, if Ivanovic won this match she likely would have gone to the final. SHE would actually have a chance of beating Wozniacki in the final! Bartoli may have taken Wozniacki to three sets but I never truly believed she could win.

@ChessboyJohnny Ouch. Harsh. But I know what you mean. If only I could slap through the tv screen, a lot of players would be knocked out.

  • By 009helloo, August 7, 2010 @ 10:32 pm

Ana had sports psychologist when she won Indian Wells in 2008. It is high time to hire one again

  • By ChessboyJohnny, August 7, 2010 @ 11:28 pm

@glory789 I know right, she threw in her own windows with that negative mentality, I literally wanted to give her a slap in the face and tell her to fucking stop whining and just play, Bartoli was ill as well, to think a final wudve meant a place in the top 10. just hurts badly, god she sucks sometimes

  • By glory789, August 8, 2010 @ 12:21 am

Ugh. Hate this match. Ana should have won it. It was her’s for the taking but blew way too many opportunities. Would have been great for womens tennis if she made the final and top 10 again, which likely would have happened if she had this match. Sport needs players like Ana and Masha at the top again.
